About the Standards Management Specialist Position
The ideal candidate for Standards Management Specialist is a technology-savvy person who can learn a complex data system and procedures for capturing educational standards data within a proprietary technology database. Problem-solving skills, experience with data systems and online applications are important. Familiarity with educational learning standards and website research skills are required.
This is a full time position. The ideal candidate would begin immediately working in the Academic Benchmarks office located in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Learn quickly and fully utilize database tools in the AB system to capture/edit standards data and review data against source documents to ensure accuracy and integrity of content
- Utilize trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills to remedy data capture issues and handle client-identified problems
- Create and review documentation of procedures and practices used in the department as well as tool functions and application in data management situations
- Identify and document potential improvements to the AB system and data management practices
- Research state education websites to locate and review current curriculum and assessment standards
- Perform additional duties as deemed necessary to achieve and maintain high quality of data
Requirements
- Experience in using a variety of technologies (databases, spreadsheets, online tools, shared applications, etc.) directly for data management and tracking as well as for communication in internal and remote environments
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a cross-functional team
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Attention to details and excellent proofreading skills
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and benchmark delivery dates
- Ability to analyze user requirements and communicate effectively to confirm requirements
- Flexibility in adapting to new challenges in a fast-paced technology industry
- Bachelor's Degree in a field related to requirements of the position or work-related experience that demonstrates possession of skills to meet all listed job requirements
Highly Desirable
- Experience in education, educational publishing, or working with state/national curriculum standards
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of the development profession
- Experience, or equivalent knowledge in database management, data analysis or programming
